Concord (1998)
An exclusive, hybrid audio-visual release for the SpaceTime channel, created and produced by
James Gordon Anderson.
Concord is Australian composer James Gordon Anderson’s acclaimed debut CD release from 1998,
and features two versions of the original composition - Concord I and Concord II.
Blending meditative, ambient, post-classical minimalism with filigreed instrumental lines,
the work’s signature falling piano motif builds with glacial calm against ascending orchestral
textures into a series of mesmerising harmonic suspensions and subsequent descents into silence.
Featured musicians from the original recording include Michael Kieran Harvey (piano), Kirsten Williams (violin), Carl Rosman (clarinets) and Timothy O’Dwyer (saxophone). The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Francois Tetaz, and co-produced by James and Francois.
This special audio-visual release features two video versions of both Concord I & Concord II - the most recent visual interpretations utilise manipulated image sequences derived from the project and album art.
